Automation is on the rise. At least that’s according to the results of Food Processing’s 2016 Automation survey. Our data show automation spending is up 44% for food and beverage manufacturers, with that number even higher among processors who have more than minimal levels of automation.
The study, which was produced in collaboration with ABB in late 2016, was conducted to learn about the top plant investment goals for food and beverage processors. Both throughput and labor savings were indicated as the top goals of plant investment; however, automation being key to both, was a theme throughout.
